Arcadia College

Arcadia College

A1 Passive Fire undertook the fire rating of the structural steel columns and beams to the climbing wall at the new Arcadia College facility at Robina.

A1 Passive Fire worked in with the plastering contractor to provide a 120/-/- FRL to the 10m high steel columns and the intermediate beams. We installed Promatec H fire rated board with CAFCO 300 Vermiculite spray to provide a fully compliant system.

Certification

Certification

Together our Project Manager & Fire Certifier closely monitor the installation process on every job to ensure the works are completed in strict accordance with the appropriate clauses of the BCA, Australian Standards and manufacturers specifications. We also offer managed certification services for penetrations installed by others where regulations permit.

Rectification & Maintenance

Rectification & Maintenance

We perform rectification and maintenance work so your building remains compliant with relevant fire containment and compartmentalisation safety standards.

This includes: Fire-resistant doors, windows, shutters and access panels; Fire and smoke barriers such as fire-rated walls, block work walls, fire-rated ceilings, TBA Firefly cavity fire barriers and fire dampers; Fire-stopping elements such as fire-rated board encasements, fire collars, construction joint seals and switch box penetration seals.

Audits & Reports Compliation

Audits & Reports Compliation

During our compliance/essential services inspections, we are able to determine the compliant and non-compliant works.

We also provide a comprehensive report outlining the critical and non-critical defects, together with rectification works required to bring everything up to code and our overall price to complete these works. This full itemised audit report is complete with cost analysis and photographic evidence.

Installation

Installation

We install passive fire equipment and structures in any new or existing building. If it’s an existing building and we find works to be incorrectly installed, we’ll fix them so they comply.

Fire sealing of electrical, plumbing and communication penetrations to fire-rated elements to achieve the required fire rating level; Application of fire-rated gypsum/vermiculite spray to beams, columns, hollow areas, ducts and exhausts; Application of intumescent fire-rated paint to steel members

Inspection & Certification

Inspection & Certification

We perform both QA and recurring inspection and certification of new and existing buildings. For large developments we can also set-up an inspection and maintenance program with the body corporate.

Fire safety inspections, upgrades and certification to ensure all aspects of your building are compliant with the highest possible fire life and standards;

Our passive fire inspection and installation report outlines critical and non-critical defects and records all assets relevant to the passive fire protection log as specified in AS1851.2012.

Transcity Legacy Way Tunnel

Transcity Legacy Way Tunnel

This process involved a full prototype being designed, tested and approved. Day and night shifts including manual handling of 90kg weighted panels were required to achieve the scope of works. These works included more than 100,000 screws being placed into 2mm stainless steel purlins and over 50,000 SS spike anchors in a 65mpa concrete. The 8m high ceilings resulted in the works being carried out via boom and scissor lift access only. Operating under the strictest safety plans together with continual construction traffic meant limited access throughout the project. The A1 Passive Team is incredibly proud of the process and end result.

Sunshine Coast Hospital

Sunshine Coast Hospital

Provide Passive Fire protection solution, installation and certification for the electrical and data cable penetrations in the new hospital facility located in the sunshine coast suburb of Caloundra.

This project involved installing passive system and solution to over 1500 penetrations that allow electrical cable, data cable to flow from the communications rooms on each floor to locations throughout the complex. Interphase with other services needed to be closely coordinated so as to meet code and legislation requirements for compliance.
